In Ohio, as in many states you must notify your Board of Elections well in advance of any change of address since you last voted. Otherwise you can't legally vote at your new polling place , nor at your prior one, but must instead cast a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are often not counted until after election day, -in the event of a very close race.
